The dream is a second life ...

"Marcel KANCHE could make Gérard de Nerval's definition his own. His universe is dreamlike. A poet who nourishes his dreams with his life. Far from the image of Epinal of the author who lets his imagination run wild in his tower ivory. His wandering begins in the torments of love, the weight of years, existence in all its forms. It is no coincidence that the heirs of Léo Ferré have him, for a previous album, confided in an unpublished work by the libertarian singer (“un chemin d'enfer” ). Here, Marcel K also takes the paths of the past, but his own, always far from marked trails.
Ten tight, compact texts, written in July 1994, published in 2005, lost in a publisher victim of a flood, and finally rediscovered by the author himself during a move. They take us to the plateau of the Alps, under the chalky cliffs of Dieppe, in the gardens of the Cher valley. They tell us about a man in direct contact with (his) nature, who "eats the soft earth found under the pebbles", "reaches the fuselage of fast and motionless ibex", "bends under the night, bent into a life ignorance ”. The self-portrait of the author of "Vertiges des lenteurs", "Watchmen of the dawn", "Thickness of the void" is refined over time.

The guitarist-singer's companions have emerged, those of the inner circle, Bruno TOCANNE (drums), Fred ROUDET (trumpet). The way is open for authentic sounds, at the confluence of rock, punk, free jazz. A confusing project signed Marcel KANCHE, the singer-songwriter who "always digs the same furrow" ... by taking side roads. "

The dream is a second life ...

"Marcel KANCHE could adopt this definition of Gérard de Nerval. So much his world is dreamlike. A poet who nourishes his dreams of his life. Here Marcel Kanche also borrows the paths of the past. But his own, always far from marked trails. Ten tight, compact texts, written in July 1994, published in 2005, lost in a publisher who suffered a flood, and finally rediscovered by the author himself during a move. They take us on the plateaux of the Alps, under the chalky cliffs of Dieppe, in the gardens of the Cher valley. They tell us of a man in direct contact with the (his) nature, who "eats soft earth found under pebbles", "reaches the fuselage of fast and motionless ibex" , "bends under the night, bent into a life ignorance. " They only needed music to make them (re) live. The accomplices of the guitarist-singer have imposed themselves, Bruno TOCANNE (Drums), Fred ROUDET (Trumpet). The way is open for authentic sounds, at the confluence of rock, punk, free jazz. A confusing project sign d Marcel Kanche, the singer who "still digs the same furrow" ... by taking the dirt roads. "

Poetic emotion! Poetic emotion!

"It begins with a true blues of real, garage guitar and slow and heavy drums. The voice corresponds, but the sharp and narrative, poetic lyrics, bring another dimension. Moreover, these are the poems that gave rise to the CD that Marcel KANCHE has just come out. flood. Forgotten, Marcel recently found them and set them to music. Fortunately. To dress his guitar and his voice, he called Bruno TOCANNE on drums and Fred ROUDET on trumpet, bugle and effects. Ten inspired pieces, with magnificent lyrics that take us through various landscapes, with strange and rich word reconciliations, stories of leeks and insects (Thus crowned), of cliffs (Dieppe), stories of temperature (Cornette de bise). Always full of a real poetry where the words ring but also evoke. Beauty of sounds and beauty of the senses. Even if they lose their way, sometimes. The two accomplice musicians do a superb job, soaring trumpet (Le Mont de Grange) and powerful rhythm (Abondance). A job that does not let you go when it has taken you, by the chanting voice, by the quality. Marcel KANCHE will seek far in him a sound which would come from the depths of the man to establish a correspondence with our own interiority. Poetic emotion! "BC for O'JAZZ 06/2018
